St Colman's Chatter
Dear parents and friends,
Is your child following the uniform policy ???
A consistent uniform dress code promotes a sense of belonging.
Students are encouraged to develop important life skills through consideration of issues related to personal appearance including personal hygiene, health and safety issues.
All students have a responsibility to be positive role models within the school and in representing the school in the wider community.
All students must wear the school hat to school events including external sports.
Hairstyles
Hair should be:
- Neat and clean with no fashion extremes in styling or cut. This includes but is not limited to mullets and tracks.
- Off the face and tied back if shoulder length or longer.
- Natural colour.
- Ribbons, bands, headbands and scrunchies should be simple and understated school colours of plain blue or yellow.
Jewellery
- If a student is wearing earrings, the only permitted earrings are a single plain gold or silver stud (no more than 4mm in diameter) or a single plain gold or silver sleeper (no more than 1.5 cm outer diameter and with a width/thickness of 1mm) per ear lobe. The wearing of pearls or pearl like earrings, diamonds, stones or other designer earrings is not permitted.
- Religious symbol on chain permitted
- Watch (no smart watches) permitted
- No rings to be worn at school
- No lipstick or make-up to be worn at school
Students are not permitted to wear nail polish or false nails such as acrylic nails. Fingernails should be clean and neatly trimmed.
Townsville Catholic Education Surveys
Townsville Catholic Education Office (TCE) collaborates closely with all schools and colleges across the Diocese to consistently improve the Catholic school experience for students, staff, and families. A vital part of this effort is listening to the voices of our school communities.
Over the coming days, TCE will send out a survey to all staff and families, while Yr 5-12 students will complete the surveys during class. These surveys are a vital tool that helps us understand what’s working well and where we can improve. The feedback collected will directly shape future planning, guide school improvement efforts, and foster environments where both students and staff can flourish.
Staff and families will receive the surveys via email on Monday, 4 August, and we kindly ask that you complete them by Monday, 18 August. If you have children attending more than one Catholic school, or if you work across multiple schools, you will get a separate survey for each.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to share your thoughts and help us build stronger, more responsive school communities.
